What is the Infrastructure & IT requirements?
Overview
FixedPlantIQ is typically installed within a customer’s on-premise OT network. The system runs on standard Windows servers and connects to site data sources such as historians or plant systems. Internet connectivity is not required for normal operation.
End-User Workstations
Users access FixedPlantIQ through a web browser. Typical requirements include a Windows desktop operating system, a modern browser such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, minimum 4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended), a 2 GHz dual-core CPU, and HTTPS access to the FixedPlantIQ application server.
Server Infrastructure
FixedPlantIQ runs on Windows Server with Microsoft SQL Server. Deployments may use separate servers (one for the application and one for the SQL database) or a combined server hosting both. Typical deployments use multi-core CPUs, 16–64 GB RAM, and several hundred gigabytes of storage depending on site scale.
Network Requirements
The platform operates entirely inside the OT network. Network configuration typically includes HTTPS access from workstations to the application server and database communication between the application and SQL server if separate. Optional SMTP access can be used for automated email reports.
Internet Connectivity
Continuous internet access is not required. A secure connection is normally used only for initial installation, system configuration, and periodic license validation.
Remote Access
Secure remote access to the application server is required for installation and support. This is commonly provided through client VPN, site-to-site VPN, or another approved OT remote access solution.
Pre‑Installation Preparation
Before installation begins, the customer should ensure servers are provisioned to specification, Windows and SQL Server are installed and patched, required firewall ports are opened, and remote access is available for the implementation team.
