How to Classify a Downtime event   

When an event is captured, it needs to be classified. Below are the steps to classify an event.

Classifying an Event

Selecting the Event:

There are two methods to select an event:

- Click anywhere on the interactive graph to highlight the corresponding event in the data grid.

- Alternatively, locate the event directly in the data grid.

Opening to Edit:

- Double-click the event to open and edit it.

- Or, right-click the event and select Edit.

- Or, select the event and click the Edit with the edit icon button at the bottom of the screen.

Classifying:

- Identify the Cause Location:

- Select from the dropdown menu.

- Use the Quick Search feature by typing the name of an area or equipment; Fixed Plant IQ will quickly filter relevant options.

- Classify the Type of Loss using the dropdown menu (e.g., unplanned mechanical etc).

- Define the Cause from the available options.

- Add any necessary additional comments, including:

- Notes on the object or component that failed

Once complete, click Save and Close using the Save icon button. The classifications will be visible in the data grid view.
